Powering Good programs support registered 501c3 nonprofits\nand community organizations, as well as educational institutions.

Organizations classified under the\nNational Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) religion category (Code X) are not\neligible.

Powering Good has three (3) primary program areas: giving,\nvolunteerism, and annual initiatives. \n

Retirees still have access and are able to engage in Powering Good\nprograms year-round! Powering Good programs are managed through an online portal\nand mobile app, using a third-party vendor, Groundswell.

All aspects of Powering Good programs are\nmanaged online and are 100% self-service.

Retirees are encouraged to support nonprofit and community\norganizations that are important to them through personal charitable giving and\nreceive a match from the PG&E Corporation Foundation. There are four (4) components to the retiree\ngiving and matching gift program, as part of Powering Good: annual/standard\nmatch, peer-to-peer fundraising, special match opportunities, and disaster\nresponse efforts.

Annual Match: Each year, retirees have up\nto $1,000 in matching gift funds for personal charitable contributions. Through the Powering Good portal, retirees\ncan set up recurring or make one-time donations via credit card or direct bank\naccount deduction. (Please note that pension deductions are no longer\navailable.) If a retiree chooses to\nmake a direct-to-charity donation outside of the Powering Good portal, they can\nstill log in and request an \u201coffline match\u201d by uploading their donation receipt\nor acknowledgement letter.

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising: Retirees can\nhost fundraisers for causes that they care about through the Powering Good\nportal. Fundraisers can be limited to\nthe PG&E network (coworkers + retirees) or shared externally with their\npersonal networks. Retirees and\ncontributing coworkers can apply their annual match to any contributions made\nto a fundraiser. When the fundraiser\nconcludes, the PG&E Corporation Foundation will automatically match the\ntotal of initial donations up to $5,000.

Special Match Opportunities: Held three\n(3) times per year, these single-day opportunities offer a 2:1/double match for\ndonations made within the Powering Good system (either the portal or the mobile\napp) that meet the giving day parameters and guidelines and occur within the\nspecial match budget. Group Incentives are determined by both the\nnumber of volunteers that participated, and the total number of hours\ncontributed.
- 6-9 volunteers, 18+ hours = $250

Groundswell is a third-party vendor, contracted by the\nPG&E Community Relations team, to help manage and disburse funds as part of\nthe Powering Good programs.

Think of the Powering Good portal (via Groundswell) as a\nvirtual wallet for all your charitable giving. You can add funds to your personal giving account through credit\ncard/debit card or bank transfer, then when you are ready, you can donate those\nfunds to any eligible charity. You can\nalso make direct donations, without having to fund your giving account first.

\n\n

Contribution: Through Powering Good, the term\ncontribution refers to adding funds to your personal giving account. These funds can be used at a later date to\nmake direct donations through your giving wallet.
Donation: Through Powering Good, the term\ndonation refers to giving directly to an organization. These funds are immediately disbursed to the\nbenefiting organization.

Benefiting organizations can expect to receive retiree\ndonations, company matches, and volunteer incentives within a week from\nsubmission.

Lower bills: While electric prices are expected to rise nationwide this year, PG&E lowered residential electric prices four times in the last two years. We\u2019ve committed to keeping bills flat in 2027 compared to 2025.
Wildfire safety: We\u2019ve buried over 1,200 miles of powerlines and deployed cutting-edge technology to detect issues before they arise. It might surprise you that putting powerlines underground is the lowest cost way to prevent wildfires and keep your lights on. In fact, only about $1.75 in your monthly bill goes to undergrounding powerlines. Because of our wildfire safety efforts, our equipment hasn\u2019t caused major wildfires for three years in a row\u2014even under extreme weather conditions.

Meet Linda Morita: The New PSEA Retiree Vice Chair

Many PG&E retirees may already know Linda Morita from her years of steadfast involvement and influential behind\u2011the\u2011scenes leadership. Now, as she steps into the role of PSEA Retiree Vice Chair, following the exceptional service of J\u2019Net Herring, Linda brings with her decades of PG&E and PSEA experience. Her enduring commitment to keeping retirees connected, informed, and engaged shines through in all she does. With Linda\u2019s leadership, alongside continuing Chairperson Rick Fetro, the retiree community can look forward to an exciting 2026 year marked by continuity, enthusiasm and a renewed dedication to strengthening the bonds that unite retirees across the PG&E service area and beyond.

Linda began her career with PG&E in 1971 and retired in 2012, concluding more than four decades of service. She started at the Selma Service Center, where she served as the only clerk, as well as the only woman, supporting multiple service centers across the Central Valley. In an era before widespread computer use, Linda worked on a manual typewriter and provided clerical, engineering, construction and mapping support across several locations.

Over the course of her career, Linda held a variety of roles, including engineering clerk, joint pole clerk and construction foreman\u2019s clerk. These positions required adaptability, accuracy and the ability to support multiple departments at once, often with limited tools by today\u2019s standards.

Later in her PG&E career, Linda transitioned into Gas Dispatch, supporting operations in the San Jose area. Her strong map-reading skills developed well before digital mapping systems became standard, allowed her to navigate complex service locations effectively in a fast-paced dispatch environment.

$\"\"$

After retiring, Linda remained deeply connected to the PG&E community through her ongoing involvement in retiree engagement efforts, particularly in the Fresno area. As an active participant within the PSEA retiree structure, she contributed her part to supporting the Fresno chapter leaders in their efforts to strengthen communication and increase participation at the local level. Through her consistent outreach, personal follow\u2011up, and willingness to step in wherever needed, she helped bolster the Fresno chapter\u2019s momentum. Together with the dedicated Fresno chapter leadership, these efforts helped grow their retiree chapter luncheon from a small gathering into one of the most active PG&E retiree communities, now regularly drawing 80\u2013100 attendees per luncheon in Fresno. This success reflects a shared commitment to keeping retirees connected and engaged.

Linda\u2019s approach has always been practical and personal. She maintained mailing lists, sent reminders, welcomed new retirees and encouraged those who had never attended events to reconnect. Many retirees attend their first luncheon because Linda personally reached out and made them feel welcome.

Beyond meetings, Linda has also supported retiree and employee-family activities through volunteering and coordination, helping foster the sense of community that continues long after active service at PG&E ends.

In her new role as Retiree Vice Chair at PSEA, Linda is particularly focused on ensuring retirees remain informed and connected, especially those who may face challenges traveling long distances or who have gradually become disconnected over time. She believes retiree engagement is about more than events. It is about maintaining relationships, sharing information and preserving the community built through years of service at PG&E.

Linda Morita brings an extraordinary blend of institutional knowledge, lived experience and heartfelt dedication to her new role. PG&E retirees can look forward to a Vice Chair who not only honors the remarkable progress made by her predecessor, J\u2019Net, but is poised to elevate it even further. We\u2019ve been sharing about it for the past couple of months, and now the wait is finally over\u2026Powering Good, the new home for PG&E retiree charitable giving and volunteerism, is now live! Make sure to check out the updated Powering Good page within the PG&E Retiree Resource Center to learn more about the update program.

The former Campaign for the Community programs have since been retired, and all 2026 giving and volunteerism will take place through the new Powering Good portal.

On January 20, retirees who had an email address on file with the PG&E Community Relations team received an invitation to join Powering Good. As part of the launch celebration, a $25 credit has been added to retiree accounts to kick-start 2026 giving; this credit will expire on February 20 and can be directed to any eligible nonprofit of their choice. Retirees cannot access the PG&E matching gift or volunteer incentive benefits without accepting their invitation. If you need an invitation reissued, please reach out to PoweringGood@pge.com.

Coworker Giving includes the matching gift and peer-to-peer fundraising programs. Retirees are encouraged to support nonprofits, community organizations, and educational institutions that are important to them through personal charitable giving, with a 1:1 match from the PG&E Corporate Foundation.

Matching Gift Program: Each year, retirees have up to $1,000 in matching gift funds for personal charitable contributions. Set up recurring or one-time donations through the Retiree CFTC portal via pension deduction or credit card payment and apply your matching gift funds to those deductions. You can also submit a donation receipt for a match of a direct donation (i.e., \u201coffline match request\u201d).
Peer-to-Peer Fundraising: Host fundraisers for causes that matter to you through the Retiree CFTC portal. Fundraisers can be limited to the PG&E network or shared externally with personal networks like friends and family. Retirees and contributing PG&E coworkers can apply their personal matching funds to their fundraiser contributions. At the end of the fundraiser, the organizer can request a separate corporate match of up to $5,000.

Retirees are encouraged to support nonprofits and community organizations with their time through volunteerism. Retirees are welcome to join open coworker group volunteer events arranged by the Community Relations team or other PG&E coworkers. Additionally, retirees are welcome to register their own group volunteer engagements. Lastly, retirees are encouraged to log their personal volunteer time they contribute to community organizations (like food banks). Registered volunteer time can earn retirees Community Service Award (CSA) grants to benefit their favorite charitable organizations.

Annual PSEA Retiree Picnic Shows PG&E Family Extends Well Beyond Working Years

The bonds of the \u201cPG&E family\u201d were on full display in Lodi this summer, where hundreds of retirees gathered to see old friends, swap stories, and reminisce about their years spent serving their hometowns.

The event, the Pacific Service Employee Association\u2019s (PSEA) annual Retiree Picnic, has been running for nearly four decades, and represents one of the largest social gatherings of the year for PG&E retirees. In addition to the normal staples of barbeque, bingo and a wide array of raffle prizes, this year\u2019s event also gave attendees the opportunity to hear from PG&E CEO Patti Poppe, who stopped by to share the company\u2019s progress on building a safer, cleaner, and more resilient grid, as well as hear from retirees about how PG&E can continue to show up for its hometowns.

\u201cRetirees are an important part of our PG&E family. You\u2019re often the face of PG&E in your hometowns,\u201d Poppe told the crowd. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to learn more from you and work together as we chart a new path at PG&E.\u201d

Poppe\u2019s visit to Lodi also served as the kickoff of a new phase of retiree engagement for the company, which will include a monthly digital newsletter, frequent company speakers at retiree chapter events and more.

Quarterly Retiree Spotlight

Bob Grimm: Hero, Leader, Survivor

Bob Grimm\u2019s PG&E career was punctuated by three Britton Awards, but his commitment to service goes well beyond a series of heroic rescues.

On three separate occasions during Bob Grimm\u2019s PG&E career, he left for work in the morning and returned home a hero.

Grimm, a PG&E retiree, past Chairman of the Board of Pacific Service Employee Association\u2019s Board of Trustees and a survivor of the 2018 Camp Fire, is one of very few individuals to earn three John A. Britton Awards, which is given for \u201cexceptional courage, self-sacrifice, initiative and resourcefulness in emergency situations.\u201d The awards came after Grimm repeatedly found himself at the right place, at the right time, and delivered life-saving care to someone in need.

\u201cSomebody had to do something. Somebody,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, I got in there.\u201d

The first came in 1986, when Grimm came upon the scene of a hit-and-run accident near the Sacramento River and was able to perform CPR on a woman who was left unconscious and not breathing after being struck. Two years later, his life-saving skills were called upon once again, when a car stuck a patch of ice and flew off an overpass on Highway 99 behind the Chico operations office where Grimm was working.

Almost a decade after receiving his first honor, Grimm\u2019s skills were called upon once again when, while shopping at a Paradise supermarket, a man collapsed and required emergency CPR.

In each of these cases, the individuals rescued by Grimm survived, in large part due to his quick and decisive actions.

First joining the company in 1973 in the General Construction Line Department, Grimm spent much of his career as a land rights specialist who was responsible for working on surveying, permitting and resolving disputes in advance of new construction and relocation work performed by the company. While the Britton awards that he earned during his tenure with the company are shimmering high points in a career that saw Grimm give nearly four decades of service to PG&E\u2019s hometowns and customers, they are far from the only examples of his commitment to serve.

From 1992 to 1994, Grimm served as a Trustee of the PSEA\u2019s Board of Trustees, being Chairman in 1993 and through that role was instrumental in the advancement and promotion of PSEA\u2019s Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF), which was established to provide grants to PG&E employees who are in financial need through no fault of their own. PSEA\u2019s initial investment of $250,000 was matched by the company and went on to serve as the foundation for the EAF program that is still used today. Grimm has continuously served as a Director of the EAF for 31 years.

\u201cThis can be used for help after an evacuation, losses in a wildfire or other disaster, Grimm said. \u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity to help PG&E employees in their time of need.\u201d

It\u2019s fitting that a man who spent so much time and energy ensuring that his fellow PG&E coworkers were taken care of when they encountered misfortune would, himself, later experience that same sense of community and compassion demonstrated by the PG&E family.

On the morning of November 8, 2018, Grimm left his home in Paradise for an early morning dental procedure in Chico and never came home. A few hours later, the Camp Fire would begin and destroy virtually everything that Grimm owned, including his three John A. Britton awards.

\u201cAll we had left were the clothes on our back that we left with that morning,\u201d he recalled. \u201cEvery day since then has been a gift.\u201d

In the days, months and years after the Camp Fire, Grimm and his wife experienced kindness and generosity from dozens of individuals both inside and outside the PG&E family. In the aftermath of the fire, while finding himself homeless for the first time in his life, Grimm was able to find interim long-term lodging through a role as caretaker at PSEA\u2019s Camp Almanor, where a chance encounter with a fellow employee who had also won a John A. Britton award started a process that ultimately saw the awards replaced.

\u201cHe told me, Bob, I know you have three Britton Awards. You call this number,\u201d he said. \u201cI called the number, and they were able to replicate them for me.\u201d

Now, well into his retirement, Grimm continues to stay active with PG&E\u2019s alumni family, and suggests that retirees, whether newly retired or several decades separated from service, do the same.

\u201cWhen you retire, it doesn\u2019t necessarily mean that you quit working,\u201d he said. \u201cIt means that you get to choose what work you\u2019re going to do, when you\u2019re going to do it and where you\u2019re going to do it.\u201d

With a record-breaking winter behind them, line crews from PG&E got the chance to demonstrate the skills they use at work for friends, family, and a shot at bragging rights on Saturday. Under increasingly sunny skies more than 100 journey and apprentice line workers from PG&E and beyond competed at the PG&E/IBEW 1245 West Coast Lineman\u2019s Rodeo.

PG&E and California Fire Foundation Recieve Applications for Wildfire Safety and Preparedness Grants

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and the California Fire Foundation (CFF) announced grant opportunities for California-based fire departments and community-based organizations focused on wildfire safety and preparedness. The grant program continues a successful partnership between PG&E and CFF.

Following the California Public Utilities Commission's (CPUC) approval of a final decision in PG&E's General Rate Case, CEO Patti Poppe recorded the below message to say \"thank you\" to those who weighed in during the process.

\n\n

Following a pair of special \" advocacy alerts,\" dozens of PG&E retirees made their way to the CPUC's public comment portal to educate the commission on the critical importance of placing electrical lines underground in high fire threat areas. Following this engagement, the commission revised its proposed decisions to allow for more than 1,200 miles of undergrounding to take place between 2023 and 2026.

This was a major victory for a safe and reliable energy future in California, and may not have been possible without the dedicated engagement of PG&E's retirees.
